Currently Microsoft offers an administration tool (MQExplorer and the snap-in on Windows 2K) for MSMQ servers and clients, unfortunately these applications only run on Windows NT/2K, and many times you need a management tool for Windows 9x Independent Clients.

Local private queues (Path Names)

Number of messages for each one

Local outgoing queues (Path Names)

Number of messages (for each one)

Number of unacked messages (for each one)

Requirements

  1. Windows 95/98

    MS Option Pack for Windows 95

    MSMQ SP 4 or later for Windows 95 (you can get it from the NT SP CD under SUPPORT\MSMQ.95\)

  2. Windows NT 4

    MS Option Pack

    NT SP4 or later (SP6a recommended)

  3. Windows 2K (any build appropiate)

    Message Queuing Services

Note: Caller must have local administrator’s privileges on the specified machine in order to purge messages in an outgoing queue.
